What we do
Mid-Nebraska Community Foundation is a 501c3 charitable organization that administers more than 300 charitable funds. Each fund has its own charitable purpose and specifications, usually established by the original donor(s) to provide scholarships or help nonprofit organizations and projects. We pay out well over $1 million each year from these funds to worthy causes.
We help nonprofit organizations raise funds needed to accomplish their goals and complete specific projects such as the recent Community-Build Playground in North Platte’s Centennial Park. The Community Foundation sponsors Giving Campaigns like North Platte Giving Day each year during which donors can donate to their favorite community causes.
We safe-keep and grow financial resources for worthy causes
We invest assets to grow financial resources for charitable purposes. We invest long-term funds and endowments for long-term performance. Beginning June 1980 through May 2021, our long-term investments had returns that averaged 7.8% per year.
