Currently Available Scholarships  

 

Approximately 200 scholarships are awarded each year from funds administered by Mid-Nebraska Community Foundation.  Some of these scholarships are targeted for applicants meeting very specific criteria.  

 

Are you a graduating high school senior?  

If you are a graduating high school senior, scholarship application are available between late January and March 4 through high school counselors in our region.

 

Have you graduated from high school and look to futher your education?  

If you have graduated from high school and are looking to further your education, scroll down to view currently available scholarships.  The largest share of scholarship applications for students in college are available between late January and late February or early March.

 

We are pleased to announce that application forms are available for the following scholarships with very specific eligibility criteria:

 

Applegate Scholarship for Teachers

Applicant must be either a current teacher pursuing additional education or a current education major at the college junior or senior level pursuing a baccalaureate degree in education and must be a resident of Lincoln County or adjacent counties in Nebraska.  Applicant must be pursuing an endorsement or a Master's Degree in Education with an emphasis in one or more of the following areas: Reading, Mathematics, Science, Career Technical Education, Special Education, Speech Pathology, World Languages, Language Arts, Music or Middle School Endorsement. 

Scholarship can be used at: Any accredited U.S. college or university

Scholarships and amounts: Several scholarships up to a maximum of $3,000 each can be awarded

Application deadline: February 27, 2019

John & Jerry Wing Alexander Communications Scholarship

Applicants must be a graduate of North Platte High School or a student or former student at North Platte Community College who is studying in a field of communications.  Scholarship can be used at any accredited U.S. college or university.

Several scholarships are available typically around $1,000 each.

American Legion Post 163 Scholarship

Applicants must be a resident of Lincoln County or an adjacent county who is a veteran of U.S. armed forces or a member of armed force reserves or National Guard or has been honorably discharged from such armed service organization.  Scholarship can be used at any accredited U.S. college or university.  Scholarship amount: $1,000.

Application deadline: March 4, 2019

Cattlewomen Beef Legacy Scholarship

Applicant must be a college freshman or above, have home residence in Lincoln County or an adjacent county, demonstrate experience working with cattle and plan to have a career in a beef-related field.  Scholarship can be used at any accredited U.S. college or university with a beef-related program.

Scholarship amount: $1,400

Application deadline: March 4, 2019

Deutschman-Hill-Yanney Scholarship

Applicants must have graduated from North Platte High School and be majoring in education at the college junior, senior or graduate student level in coming school year.  Scholarship can be used at any accredited U.S. college or university.

Scholarship amount: $500

Application deadline: March 4, 2019

Donald L. Erb Memorial Scholarship

Applicants must be a college junior, senior or graduate student in coming school year pursuing a degree in accounting or in business with an emphasis in accounting at a college or university in Nebraska or at the University of Kansas.  Applicant must be a resident of or a high school graduate from Lincoln County, Keith County, Deuel County or Cheyenne County in Nebraska.

Scholarship amount: $3,100
