Currently Available Scholarships  

 

Approximately 200 scholarships are awarded each year from funds administered by Mid-Nebraska Community Foundation.  Some of these scholarships are targeted for applicants meeting very specific criteria.  

 

Are you a graduating high school senior?  

If you are a graduating high school senior, scholarship application are available every January and February through high school counselors in our region.

 

Have you graduated from high school and look to futher your education?  

If you have graduated from high school and are looking to further your education, scroll down to view currently available scholarships.  The largest share of scholarship applications for students in college are available in January and February each year.

 

We are pleased to announce that application forms are available for the following scholarships:

 

Joe & Dorothy Conger "Handy-One" Scholarship

Applicant must be going into second semester or second year of studying building and/or home maintenance vocational skills at North Platte Community College, reside in the North Platte region and demonstrate moderate to substantial financial need.  

Scholarship can be used at:  North Platte Community College

Scholarship amount: $1,200  

Application deadline: October 23, 2018

 

John and Diane Poehling Scholarship

Applicant must demonstrate a background in wildlife conservation, hunting and fishing.  Also, applicant must be a college sophomore or higher at time of application, reside in Nebraska or attend school in Nebraska and hold a "B" average or better.

Scholarship can be used at: Any accredited college or university in Nebraska

Scholarships and amounts: Two scholarships of $3,000 each will be awarded

Application deadline: November 1, 2018

 

Applegate Scholarship for Teachers

Applicant must be either a current teacher pursuing additional education or a current education major at the college junior or senior level pursuing a baccalaureate degree in education and must be a resident of Lincoln County or an adjacent counties in Nebraska.  Applicant must be pursuing an endorsement or a Master's Degree in Education with emphasis in one or more of the following areas: Reading, Mathematics, Science, Career Technical Education, Special Education, Speech Pathology, World Languages, Language Arts, Music or Middle School Endorsement. 

Scholarship can be used at: Any accredited U.S. college or university

Scholarships and amounts: Several scholarships up to a maximum of $3,000 each can be awarded

Application deadline: February 27, 2019
