Mid-Nebraska Community Foundation elects new officers and directors

Brandon Jones has been elected Chair of the Board of Mid-Nebraska Community Foundation for its new fiscal year, which begins June 1, 2026. He previously served two terms as Vice Chair. Other officers elected are: Andrea Wenburg, Vice-Chair of the Board, and Emily Wurl, Secretary, for a second term.

Jones is the Vice President of Construction Operations at Beveridge Inc., where he has worked for more than twenty years. He has served three years on the Community Foundation’s Board of Directors. He has been involved at the local or state level with many other organizations, including the North Platte Area Chamber and Development Corporation, its Economic Development Committee, North Platte Ambassadors, the Lincoln County Agricultural Society Board of Directors, the Nebraska 811 Board of Directors, and the Governor’s Underground Excavation Safety Committee. He is also active with the North Platte High School Booster Club and North Platte Berean Church. Jones is a native of Lincoln, Nebraska.

Recently elected as new directors to the Community Foundation’s Board of Directors are Vikki Carlson, Scott McPheeters and Jake Tiedeman.

The Community Foundation currently administers about 350 separate charitable and scholarship funds, each with specifications established by the original donating people or organizations.  Most of the funds administered by the Community Foundation are lasting legacies of donors, according to President-Executive Director Leland Poppe.

In the last twelve months, the funds of the Community Foundation paid out over $4 million in scholarships and grants to nonprofit organizations. The Community Foundation primarily serves North Platte, Lincoln County and 11 nearby counties in Nebraska.
