Investments

We invest assets of charitable funds in a manner appropriate to the purpose and time frame of the fund.

We invest long-term funds and endowments for long-term performance.  For the fiscal years beginning June 1980 through May 2024, long-term investments had returns that averaged 7.48% per year.  Our long-term funds were invested 64.4% in stocks and other equities, 31.2% in fixed income securities and 4.5% in cash equivalents as of June 30, 2024.

We invest intermediate-term funds in a more balanced manner than endowments and other long-term funds.  Our intermediate-term/balanced funds were invested 47.4% in stocks, 44.4% in fixed income securities and 8.2% in cash as of June 30, 2024.

We invest short-term funds such as active project funds in a very conservative manner with asset preservation being the paramount goal and interest income a secondary goal.

As a 501(c)(3) charitable organization, investment returns are tax-exempt.
