Mid-Nebraska Community Foundation scholarship funds are created by donors that recognize the importance of helping students achieve their educational goals, now and in the future. The funds’ creators select the criteria based on their interests and community needs.

Many scholarships are memorials, and lasting legacies of individuals and primarily serve... 

  • Graduating high school seniors,
  • Current college students 
  • Returning college students 
  • Post-graduates 
  • Teachers

who reside in our 12 county region (Arthur, Custer, Dawson, Frontier, Hayes, Hooker, Keith, Lincoln, Logan, McPherson, Perkins, & Thomas) have gone to high school in the region, or go to college in Nebraska.

 

Scholarship Portal 

Our online scholarship portal connects area students with local scholarship opportunities.  Register on the Scholarship Portal to apply for scholarships and receive email announcements of scholarship deadlines.

 

 

Open January 1 - February 28, 2023

One Application for many Scholarships will quickly screen your basic data against the eligibility requirements of 72 local scholarship opportunities and display scholarships you may apply for.

Spring 2023 Open   January 1  -  31, 2023

Fall 2023 Open  June 1 -  31, 2023

This scholarship is awarded twice a year.  This scholarship will be given to residents of School District. 81-R in Custer/Dawson County.

 

 

 

Open  August 15 - October 31, 2023

This scholarship honors the legacy of John & Diane Poehling and their interest in hunting, fishing, wildlife conservation and wildlife education.  Eligibility Requirements include:

  • Resident of Nebraska
  • Background in hunting, fishing, wildlife conservation and/or wildlife education
  • Next fall semester will be a college junior or higher
  • Next fall semester will be attending college in Nebraska

 

Graduating Seniors Check with Your School Counselors
While the majority of the scholarship funds Mid-Nebraska Community Foundation administers are included in the ONE Application for Many Scholarships, several additional scholarships we administer have applications submitted at counselor offices in high schools in central and western Nebraska. Graduating high school seniors are urged to check for scholarship opportunities with their school's counselors.

Community Fundraising Campaigns

  • Add connections to North Platte trails
    Add connections to North Platte trails

    Help add connecting trail segments to North Platte trails.  To donate online to North Platte Trails Network Fund go to the Donate page on this website.

  • The City of North Platte plans to renovate the Cody Park Tennis Courts into a multi-sport facility with eight new competition-worthy Tennis Courts and ten new Pickleball Courts. This multi-sports facility will also have additional features, including spectator seating, equipment storage and nearby restrooms.

  • Due to the sport's growth and the tournaments that are now held in North Platte, more courts are required in the community. In order to satisfy the demands of the expanding sport in North Platte, the North Platte Pickleball Association and the City of North Platte are collaborating to upgrade the Cody Park Tennis Courts into a multiport facility with ten dedicated pickleball courts.

  • The North Platte Tennis Association is working together with the City of North Platte to raise funds for a new multisport facility in Cody Park with eight new competition-worthy tennis courts along with spectator seating and other amenities
