North Platte Giving Year End Raises $130,239 for Local Nonprofits

Donors gave over $130,000 to help 58 local nonprofits through North Platte Giving Year End hosted by Mid-Nebraska Community Foundation. Many people like to make charitable gifts near the end of the year and the Giving Year End campaign makes it easy and convenient to support local nonprofits.

The Giving Year End campaign opened on November 28th and ended December 31st at midnight. 100% of each donation goes directly to donor-selected nonprofits.  The Community Foundation and an anonymous donor cover campaign and gift processing costs.

A total of $42,985 was given to nine local nonprofits that provide food and shelter to those in need. One donor said, “I especially like donating to nonprofits that have food pantries and provide shelter at this time of the year when many local families are facing challenges.”

The seven nonprofits receiving the largest number of donations were:

  • Sutherland Public School Foundation Fund
  • Salvation Army
  • FUR Animal Rescue
  • PAWS-itive Partners Humane Society
  • Community Connections
  • Deborah’s Legacy
  • Lincoln County Historical Museum

The top five nonprofits in dollars donated of $10,000 or more were:

  • Salvation Army
  • Sutherland Public School Foundation
  • Prairie Arts Center
  • North Platte Community Playhouse
  • North Platte Catholic School Endowment

Charitable donations made each year are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law. To learn more about the participating organizations and Giving Year End donations, go to NorthPlatteGiving.org.
